I'll roll down on my beach cruiser, but those looking for parking have a few options. The closest lot is the most southern beach parking lot ($6). Park and walk south to the Venice border and go up near the road where the grass is. parking.smgov.net/overview.html
If you'd like to save money on parking, I can suggest the Civic Lot, which is free on Sunday, despite the sign that says $5 or something (no one on duty). You can walk over and hop on the Tide Shuttle for 25cents, and go down to the Venice border stop if you don't want to walk 15-20 minutes or so. bigbluebus.com/miniblue/tidemap.html
